I love the Olympics. Well, actually I love the Winter Olympics. On a regular day, I love Canada. But during the Winter Olympics? My Canadian pride goes Through. The. Roof.

During the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, my birthday was on the same day that the Canadian women’s hockey team won the gold medal. My friends and family planned a surprise party for me and played the Olympic theme song as I walked into the house. If you haven’t heard I Believe, do yourself a favour and listen to it. If that’s not an uplifting song, then I don’t know what is! I may or may not have shed some tears during said party (but definitely did).

With my husband and I trying to watch as many events as we can, I started noticing a common theme. These Olympic athletes put themselves through so much. Not just physically, but emotionally and mentally as well. I love when the commentators talk about the journeys the athletes had to get to the Olympics. These stories are usually filled with lots of trial. There are no stories where the athlete didn’t have a rough patch. There are no stories where the athlete didn’t have to get back up after being kicked down. There are no stories where the athlete didn’t have to keep trying.

Though I admire their physical abilities, their resilience is even more impressive and something we can all learn from. Enter this downloadable mobile wallpaper. As a business owner (who is admittedly very emotional), it’s so easy to let the nature of being an entrepreneur get me down. So I definitely need this reminder to adopt that Olympian mindset and just keep trying.
