Wedding Inspiration | Spring Styled Shoot at the Estates of Sunnybrook
In 2018, I had the opportunity to participate in a spring-themed editorial shoot with so many other talented vendors. Spring is synonymous with rebirth and new life as flowers and trees start blooming. So many beautiful, earthy, romantic elements were incorporated in the styling. With each vendor providing such delicate details for the shoot, I wanted to provide a different interpretation of the theme.
I created an invitation suite using a very neutral colour palette of soft white, sand and dove grey. By incorporating calligraphy only on the envelopes, the suite was kept very streamlined with a minimal invitation/RSVP card design. I wanted to offer an air of lightness on the invites by using negative space in a thoughtful way. In addition, the main invitation card was printed on a transparent vellum sheet. I chose vellum instead of typical card stock to amplify the delicateness and play off the fresh spring theme. Place cards with calligraphy written on hand-torn sand coloured paper and an intimate love letter round out the rest of the stationery.
Since this shoot took place, the Estates of Sunnybrook has sadly stopped operating. I am thankful that these beautiful pictures of the venue still live on. Even though the landscape of weddings has changed so much due to COVID-19, the inspiration is still so applicable to today’s popular micro weddings and elopements. See the images below for some romantic wedding inspiration for spring and summer!
