Whistle Bear Golf Club Wedding | John + Stephanie
Minimal and clean. These were the words John and Stephanie used to describe the overall vibe of their fall Whistle Bear Golf Club wedding in Cambridge, Ontario. I was really excited to work on all their stationery because 1) I’m a big fan of minimalism and 2) Stephanie is my big sister!
Since I know them both so well, the design process was fairly seamless. To keep everything clean, we focused less on incorporating calligraphy. Instead, we used a classic serif font with lots of negative space.
The best part about designing all the stationery for a wedding is that everything remains cohesive. Not only did Bon Paper House create the invitations, but we also created a welcome sign, seating chart, table numbers and menus. We also created custom stickers and additional small signage for the wedding favours and guestbook table. There are a lot of logistical elements that come into play throughout the whole wedding day. Extra signs help to keep spaces organized and provide instructions to guests in a stylish way.
We did end up sprinkling some calligraphy on the seating chart and on the guests’ place cards. The hexagon marble tiles which acted as place cards were my favourite part of the tablescape. Those elements, along with the bride’s beautiful bouquet by Sweet Woodruff and the simple pampas grass I decorated the altar with, provided just the right amount of flourish for John and Stephanie’s very streamlined wedding day.
