Wedding Inspiration | DIY Pastel Picnic Elopement Styled Shoot in Streetsville
For today’s post, I’m sharing all the details for this Pastel Picnic Elopement styled shoot (that hubby and I participated in). Calling all you DIY brides out there, be prepared to get inspired!
One day, while talking to Phoebe of Eightyfifth Street Photography…
Phoebe: Want to do a styled shoot with us?
Me: Sure!
Phoebe: The one condition is…you and [your husband] have to model too.
Let’s just say I’m way more comfortable with a pen and nib in my hand than in front of the camera, but I’m glad my husband and I agreed to do the shoot.
We used a lot of elements from our actual wedding: I got to wear my wedding dress again, Jonathan wore his suit (sans bow tie) and we included our wedding backdrop and reception decor in the shoot.
This shoot was all about inspiring the bride who doesn’t want to let the wedding budget limit her creativity. From the handmade details, laidback picnic setup and keepsake invitation suite, we wanted to make sure everything was accessible to any couple, regardless of their budget.
Wanting to let the beautiful pastel elements on the table shine, I created an invitation in a dove grey to go with the pastel theme. The vellum overlay on the invitation suite added an unexpected textural element and while still letting the calligraphy, written in white ink, stand out.
Check out the pictures below to see what the team created and captured!

PPS The last few are just some of my fave pictures that Eightyfifth Street captured. If you wipe off the make and swap our fancy clothes for jammies, this could be a typical Jonathan and Evelyn picture, being totally unaware of each other’s space right in our kitchen.
